About Sarah Gurka

Sarah Gurka, Esq. is an associate with the law firm of Gordon &
Gordon, P.C. with a primary focus in plaintiffs' civil litigation. Ms.
Gurka regularly handles personal injury cases involving traumatic brain
injuries, occupational injuries, automobile accidents, class actions,
environmental litigation, and mass torts.
Previously, Ms. Gurka served as a Judicial Law Clerk to The Honorable
Bryan D. Garruto, J.S.C. and The Honorable Jamie D. Happas, J.S.C.,
designated mass tort judges in the Superior Court of New Jersey,
Middlesex County.
As a law clerk to designated mass tort judges, Ms. Gurka had a unique
opportunity to work on national mass tort and class action cases
involving pharmaceutical products liability claims. In addition to
working on mass tort cases, Ms. Gurka dealt with a wide array of civil
litigation cases, involving, but not limited to Law Against
Discrimination ("LAD") claims, Consumer Fraud Act ("CFA") claims,
general negligence claims, Products Liability Act ("PLA") claims,
contractual disputes, and automobile negligence claims.
Additionally, she worked on the civil cases arising out of the
murders committed by former nurse and admitted serial killer Charles
Cullen.
Prior to law school, Ms. Gurka worked as an Assistant Public Affairs
Officer in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of New
Jersey.
During law school, Ms. Gurka was a summer intern for The Honorable
Patty Shwartz, United States Magistrate Judge for the United States
District Court – District of New Jersey. She also worked as a law clerk
for Legal Services of New Jersey (Central) as well as a New Jersey
plaintiff’s law firm.
